Why Lobster ? ๐Ÿฆž

The lobster is a rare and precious animal, symbolizing purity and prosperity. The blue lobster, even rarer, is a symbol of sustainability and abundance. It illustrates pretty well what we want to bring to DeFi ecosystem.

Lobster's purpose

Decentralized finance is a relatively young ecosystem with an impressive potential, but its mass adoption comes along with tough challenges.

Among these challenges, one of the biggest is undoubtedly complexity. Lately, DeFi complexity has considerably increased due to the growing competition between the services, as well as the arrival of institutional players. โ€

As a result, it is becoming more and more difficult for everyone to generate sustainable returns through DeFi, especially if you are not an institutional investor, mastering perfectly DeFi investment strategies.

We believe that anyone should be able to benefit from professional yield strategies, without needing to mobilize a considerable amount of knowledge or time. โ€ This is why we created Lobster, a protocol which simplifies access to autonomous and individualized professional strategies, to generate additional returns on crypto assets.

Our platform acts as a strategy manager overlaying all your favorites platforms.

Lobster is committed to offering increasingly efficient strategies for those who wish to maximize their returns on their crypto-assets, in the simplest and most accessible way.

Is Lobster non-custodial ? ๐Ÿ”—

Yes, definitely.

First of all, you manage all your allocations through your crypto wallet. You deposit your cryptos in a secure and non custodial vault, which is a smart contract powered by dHedge on the associated blockchain.

Deposit your coins, and get a recipe token which allow you to withdraw anytime, autonomously. You are the only one allowed to withdraw your coins.

Lobster's algorithm is plugged to this vault, and has the permission to perform a shortlist of operations, defined in the vault's smart contract, remotely. Among them : liquidity providing on Uniswap V3 and lending on AAVE basically.

Every other transaction is forbidden, which means that it cannot perform out-of-scope operations, or withdraw your funds by any manner.

These smart contracts are developed by our partner dHedge, and every transaction and contract is 100% transparent on the blockchain.

Are strategies proven themselves over time? โฒ๏ธ

Lobster is a strategy manager designed to provide returns that last over time. Lobster's algorithms provide automated strategies with adaptive parameters, evolving with market configurations.

To find out the historical performance of our product, you can:

  • Track the current track record of strategies displayed on the app and on chain

  • Trust the backtesting that we have carried out over more than a year and a half of bear market, including hundreds of millions of transactions on the blockchain in order to best adjust our algorithm.

What are underlying services ? โš’๏ธ

By using Lobster, you invest simultaneously, and intelligently, in the most prestigious and secure protocols in decentralized finance: Uniswap v3 and AAVE v3. In the future, we only will whitelist well-known protocols to maximize the sustainability and security of investments. This diversification also reduces dependence on a single protocol and contributes to greater stability of returns.

In addition, Lobster's smart contract infrastructure is currently based on Dhedge protocol. Lobster has not published any smart-contract for the moment, as we use DHedge's contracts. They have been on chain for quite some time and are fully audited.

What about security ? ๐Ÿ”’

Lobster is built on the two most prestigious and secure protocols in decentralized finance: Uniswap and AAVE.

In addition, our smart contracts are powered by the Dhedge protocol, which currently has a lot of funds under management, and which has been audited several times.

Decentralized insurance are available on dedicated protocols (by choosing Dhedge), to insure yourself against smart contracts risks.

See more on the "insurance" page.
